Being in the dog days of summer, we found that it was just too hot to be outside. Little ones get dehydrated so fast when it is this hot outside, so we have been opting to go to the park in the morning and at night and save the hottest times of the day for inside fun!
This meant that I had to get really creative for Kenzie, because she was going crazy indoors! She is a really active and sporty girl like her mommy so being inside makes her climb the walls. Since I totally get it, I had to do something for her!
We started out by getting some baskets, which we tied little ribbon bows on to decorate them. These were our collection baskets and we did this while the baby was sleeping so we could move around the house easier. We started collecting bits and scraps along the way like some glue, paint, glitter, paper, an old shirt, pipecleaners, google eyes and outdoor stuff like pinecones.
We put it all in our basket and went inside where I put butcher paper over the table. Then we got crafty! We made some of the best pinecone paint prints ever! Then we made what we called "whatzits!" where we took pipe cleaners, glue, glitter and google eyes. We painted on a thin coat of the glue to the pipe cleaners then rolled them in glitter. Then we bent them into shapes and glued google eyes on to them. Kenzie even made a hat for hers! It was so much fun!
After we were done, we went into the kitchen and she helped me make some pudding. Later, we took our butcher paper and did our favorite craft - finger paints with pudding!!! Even though most of it goes into the mouth, we still had some really fun pictures and it makes her crative jucies flow until we can get outside to the park to let her run off some steam!
Later on Matt and I put the kids to bed early, popped some low fat popcorn, poured us each a glass of wine and watched a movie like real couch potatoes! It was a nice relaxing end to a very busy day!

New Pediatrician
So we found a new doctor for the kids since Dr. Steinman is moving out of state to be with her family... we will miss her!
Now we have Dr. Finglehopper - yep that's her name and she is great! Dr. Steinman recomended her and we love her because she doesn't push everything on us but we feel like she provides us pros and cons on medical decisions.
My friends all know that I am not big on medicine unless it is absolutly 100% needed. Not that I am one of those people who let their kid die but I dont like the idea of putting unatural things inside of your body if you can help it and I like looking at alternatives instead.
If people would just take a moment to look at what they put in their bodies they would think twice. And also if they would get up and move a bit so many health problems would be gone. We are ment to be moving and sitting is bad for your health.
People accuse me of being a health freak but I am not. I just want the world to be healthy you can't be really happy unless your health and that starts with your body as your foundation. I am not talking about size either just health although people who are big would feel so much better not being big. My friends cousin lost almost 100 lbs and she felt so much better now she runs and she never did before.
Anyway I am trying out new recipies and I will share ones that I come across that are good. you all know how much I love to cook and bake! I think we should support eachother more in our health by sharing these things - it is hard to do it on your own and people can always use support!

Feeling much better - time to have fun!
Now that we are all back to normal it is time to have fun! And what better way to have fun than to go to the beach! DH had to take some time off because his work is making him use his days so what better way to spend a day off!
Dillon is still too young to really enjoy and he slept most of the time but Kenzie and I pretended to be mermaids! We stuck our feet into the water and turned our feet out like first position in ballet and splashed! We had so much fun! Then we made a sandcastle where the fairy princess Kenzie lives and Daddy build a moat to prodect us from dragons! It was so much fun!
After we were done at the beach we walked to our favorite cafe right by the beach that we always go to - Gino's! They have the best Itallian subs, pizza, calzones, pasta and other cafe favorites and my favorite - gelatto! I am a sucker for good Itallian food - I would love to go to Italy some day or Eurpoe in general - and we all shared the foccacia, a light sub and a garden salad. It was so yummy, then we each got a scoop of gelatto to go. It was such a wonderful day I wish it would never end!

Playdate illness and farmers market
Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the sun as much as we are!
I am so glad to be able to sit and write something since we have been sick. Kenzie was first with a fever and runny nose then of course not too long and Dillon followed then me. It isn't easy having a sick toddler and baby who both need you but you really want to baby yourself and can't. Some days I wish I had more arms! I felt like everything was a disaster the house - the car - we had no food in the house because I was too stuffy to go to the store it was a nightmare! From now on, even though I love all of my friends, if you have a sick child and we aren't trying to be rude but please stay home. I like play dates too but you never know when your child is or isnt contagious so it is better to wait it out to make sure than make all of your friends and childs friends sick. even though we love our friends! I know my friend feels bad about it though and no one could have known we would get sick so thats ok it is just difficult.
Now that we are better I have been able to go get groceries again. I love summer because there are so many fresh fruit options! Look at these yummy raspberries and blueberries I found at the farmers market right down the street from me

If you can't tell by now, my passion outside of children is photography. I love taking photos and having professional photos done so you may see some of my pictures up here and like them. If you want any you can send me an email and I can send them to you!
I love the farmers market because it really gets us out of the house. Kenzie is going to start her dance classes soon so that will be a nice opportunity to get out of the house also. I will keep you updated on how it all goes.

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to start my blog. I have always wanted to put up a blog but I have really never been an online type of person (unlike my hubby who works with computers)! I am so eager to share the wonderful world of mommyhood and share with other full time mommies like me! I love my job - the most rewarding and toughest job I have ever had. I have two wonderful little ones, Mackenzie who is 2 1/2, and Dillon is 3 months. So ladies, let's raise a glass and say cheers to all of us full time mommies, the hardest working mommies in the world!
